Tony Coleing
Tony Coleing is an artist in the purest sense—he holds a mirror up to society and records how he sees it in an amusing and aesthetic way. Born in Warnambool, Victoria in 1942, Coleing studied at the National Art School and in England before first exhibiting in 1963. Since then, he has consistently been included in shows at the finest galleries around the world, including representing Australia at the 39th Venice Biennale in 1980. His work is held in the national collection at the National Gallery of Australia (which holds hundreds of his works) and by all state galleries.
Both these digital prints are from an exhibition at Andrew Baker Gallery Weather or no that referenced global warming and the changes to environments occurring now, or those that have occurred, or will very likely occur. They are beautiful works that summons up the drift of a changing atmosphere.
